Passing on enthusiasm for playing and exploring music and bringing it closer to others - this is what the music teaching degree prepares students for. In addition to artistic instruction on instruments and singing in a wide range of styles and a variety of ensembles, the university offers an excellent range of academic and pedagogical subjects as well as a dense network of cooperation with the professional field of schools and thus opportunities to gain teaching experience during your studies.

College Competition in Music Education

The University Competition in Music Education recognizes outstanding, independent work in music education. Topics may be chosen from the entire spectrum of fields of activity and areas of focus represented in the degree programs: e.g., an artistic-pedagogical project or initiative; an initiative in music education, a research-oriented study, or an academic paper in music education; a best-practice example or a lesson plan.
The competition will take place on May 3, 2027, at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. The submission deadline is January 15, 2027.
