Starting August 3, 2026, the opening hours for the break between semesters will apply.

The library at the Aachen campus will be closed from August 14–18 and on September 25.

Relocation of the ZZT Library

The ZZT Library will open on August 24, 2026 (Dagobertstr. 50–55, rear building):

• Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Starting July 15, 2026, items from the ZZT library can no longer be requested.
Wednesday, July 15, 2026, is the last day the library will be open before the move.

Limited Opening Hours in August at the Cologne Location:
Due to preparations for the library’s move in spring 2027, we will only be able to open the library two days a week in August 2026.
The following opening hours will apply:
August 3–28, 2026: Open Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

New Library Resources

Starting this month, we are offering the new IPA Source database.
It is the definitive source for IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcriptions and literal translations of opera arias and song lyrics—created by vocal professionals for vocal professionals.

Seat cushions/balance cushions

Seat cushions/balance cushions are freely available for on-site use in the reading room.

Retro Desk

We have set up a Retro Desk in the media room at our Cologne location. At this workstation, you can play older audio media, such as vinyl records.
The devices can be operated using headphones, which can be borrowed at the counter.
