The master's degree program in orchestral performance prepares graduates of music academies for a career as an orchestral musician in a targeted and practical manner. The majority of the modular instruction in the master's program "Orchestra Performance" takes place at the Orchesterzentrum|NRW in Dortmund. The main subject lessons and individual modules are taught at the respective conservatory. The Orchesterzentrum|NRW in Dortmund is the central institution of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the training of professional orchestral musicians*. The courses of study are strictly oriented towards the requirements of orchestras and the music market and offer many direct links to professional practice.

The aptitude test for the Master's program "Orchestra Performance" takes place at the respective conservatory to which the prospective student has applied.
The Master of Music Wind Instruments program is divided into the following modules:
In the first two modules, the program focuses exclusively on deepening skills in the solo instrument. In the elective module there is the possibility to complement the profile from that of the university. The program is completed by the master's thesis/project.
