With the new library, some processes will also change: reservations are still possible - even from the Aachen and Wuppertal locations. In addition, you now have the option of searching for media on the shelves yourself. Items can be borrowed either from the team at the information desk or at the self-checkout desk on the first floor. Media can be returned around the clock via an outside return machine.

The ZZT library will close at the end of July 2026 for the move. The collection will then no longer be accessible for about 2 - 4 weeks. It is possible to borrow required media in advance.
Loan periods are generally adjusted so that items do not have to be returned during the closing time.
The usual opening hours apply for the library in the main building (Unter Krahnenbäumen). Media can be reserved, borrowed and returned here as usual. In addition, our return box is available in the foyer at the "Unter Krahnenbäumen" location.
Reservations from the Wuppertal, Aachen and Unter Krahnenbäumen locations can be made online as normal and then picked up at the desired location. Reservations from the ZZT inventory are only possible after the reopening.

During the relocation phase, no workstations can be made available in the reading room there. However, the workstations in the main building can still be used.

Our library does not participate in the national interlibrary loan system. However, interlibrary loan requests are possible at the City and University Library, the Cologne City Library or the Catholic University of Applied Sciences (Wörthstr. 10).
