The Cologne University of Music and Dance offers Germany Scholarships every year, which are paid out from October for a period of one year. The scholarships are aimed at Bachelor's and Master's students of the HfMT Cologne who are enrolled as first-year students at the HfMT Cologne and have at least two semesters of standard study time ahead of them.
The Deutschlandstipendium supports students with special talents, social commitment or who are confronted with special, challenging life circumstances.
The Deutschlandstipendium amounts to €3,600.00 per year, which is paid out in installments of €300.00 per month. Half of the funding comes from private sponsors and half from federal funds.

Students of a Bachelor's degree program or a Master's degree program with at least two semesters of standard study time remaining who are enrolled or already enrolled as first-time students at the HfMT Cologne.
Application period: 01.05. - 10.06.2026. The link to the application via muvac will be published on this page from 01.05.2026.
The scholarship is awarded primarily on the basis of the applicant's performance and aptitude. The study and examination achievements to date (from the 3rd semester) are taken into account, in particular the ECTS points achieved or the results of an intermediate examination. For newly enrolled students, the aptitude test grades are taken into account, taking into account the artistic major. For students on a Master's degree course, the final grade of the previous degree course is also relevant.
Subject-specific artistic development and profile building and creativity are taken into account, as well as particular successes, awards and prizes.
Voluntary and social commitment and aggravating personal or family circumstances are also included in the assessment. The latter include, for example, illnesses, disabilities, caring for own children, employment while studying, family background or a migration background.
Applicants who already receive financial support based on talent and performance are unfortunately not eligible for a Deutschlandstipendium.
The applications are reviewed in a multi-stage selection process and evaluated by a subject committee and a social committee. The final decision is made in a selection meeting with representatives from all departments and the Rectorate.
