ORESTIE

DIE ORESTIE - Cooperation BA Dance & Drama Cologne

Close collaboration with the professional field is an important part of the BA Dance curriculum. The cooperation with Schauspiel Köln in winter semester 2025-26 and summer semester 2026 involves ten students from the BA Dance in the production DIE ORESTIE.

Australian director Adena Jacobs is bringing DIE ORESTIE to the stage in a version that focuses on the crimes committed against Iphigenia and Clytemnestra. What about the anger that remains after the murder of daughter and mother? With the anger that cannot be appeased by Athena's request "you shall not be angry, women"? Adena Jacobs works in and on the neglected interstices of antiquity and combines acting with dance and video art to create a feminist Gesamtkunstwerk.
