Zum Abschluss der zweiwöchigen Recherchephase im Rahmen der neuen Serie Circus Dance Practices: Experimenting, Exploring im Rahmen des Campusprojekt  , begeben sich acht Studierende des Zentrum für Zeitgenössischen Tanz (ZZT) in der Ausgabe Circus Dance Practices #1 gemeinsam mit dem eingeladenen Jongleur Guillaume Martinet der Compagnie DeFracto in den Kölner Stadtraum.
Nach einer intensiven Arbeitsphase zwischen zeitgenössischem Tanz und Jonglage bringen sie ihre Recherche in den Stadtraum: Bewegungsmaterial, rhythmische Strukturen sowie das Spiel mit der Beziehung zwischen Körper und Objekt treten in Dialog mit dem urbanen Umfeld und den Menschen der Stadt.

Circus Dance Practices #1 ist ein mehrwöchiges künstlerisches Forschungsprojekt, das von ZZT Köln in Zusammenarbeit mit dem CircusDanceFestival initiiert wurde. Gemeinsam mit Studierenden des BA-Studiengangs Tanz erforscht der international tätige französische Jongleur und Performer Guillaume Martinet (Compagnie DeFracto) künstlerische Ansätze zwischen Zirkus und Tanz, wobei er sich auf die Beziehung zwischen Körper und Objekt sowie zwischen technischer Präzision und spielerischem Experimentieren konzentriert. Dies geschieht durch praktische laboratorische Übungen, Improvisation und kompositorische Werkzeuge.

At the end of the two-week research phase for the new series Circus Dance Practices: Experimenting, Exploring as part of  the campus project in this year`s edition Circus Dance Practices #1, eight students from the Centre for Contemporary Dance (ZZT) will go site specific in Cologne together with guest juggler Guillaume Martinet from the Compagnie DeFracto.
After an intensive work phase combining contemporary dance and juggling, they are taking their research site specific: movement material, rhythmic structures and the interplay between body and object enter into a dialogue with the urban environment and the people of the city.

This is a collaboration between the BA Dance programme at the Centre for Contemporary Dance (ZZT) at the Cologne University of Music and Dance and the CircusDanceFestival. The facilitator is Guillaume Martinet / Defracto. Concept and Idea: Tim Behren, Vera Sander

Circus Dance Practices #1 is an artistic practice research over a few weeks initiated by ZZT Köln in cooperation with the CircusDanceFestival. Together with students of the BA Dance, the internationally active French juggler and performer Guillaume Martinet (Compagnie Defracto) explores artistic approaches between circus and dance, focusing on the relationship between body and object, and between technical precision and playful experimentation through practical lab sessions, improvisation, and compositional tools. concept und idea: Tim Behren, Vera Sander
