Master of Music - Orchestra (located at the OZM Dortmund)

The orchestra master’s program is a goal-oriented, practical preparation for graduates of institutions of higher education for music looking for careers as orchestra musicians.

The majority of the modularly structured classes for the "Orchestral Playing" Master's study course is held at the Orchesterzentrum|NRW in Dortmund. The main lessons and individual modules are taught at the respective music college.

The center is a joint effort between the four public institutions of higher education for music in North Rhine-Westphalia and Europe’s first inter-university education center for future orchestra musicians.

Duration of the degree program: 4 semesters
Start of program: Every semester
Admission requirements: A degree from an institution of higher education in Germany or abroad – instrumental degree) – as well as successfully passing the aptitude test at one of the participating institutions.
Application deadline: The application deadline for the degree programs at the four participating institutions applies. The application takes place online via the muvac platform. You can find all the information about the procedure on our Application page.
Aptitude test: Administered at the respective institution where the applicant has applied
