General Information
- Academic degree: Master of Music
- Duration of degree program: 4 semesters (2 years)
- Start of program: Winter semester
- Degree requirements: 120 ECTS credits
- Major: Conducting Music Theatre

- Successful completion of a four-year Bachelor’s Degree programme or other comparable degree programme.
- Students who have not graduated from a German-speaking institution must prove that they have sufficient knowledge of the German language (a minimum of A2 level, based on the European Reference Framework for Languages).
- Successful completion of the entrance examination.
Entrance examination
The entrance examination consists of the following two parts:
- Practical performance test
- Music theory

For practical courses, we recommend that candidates contact their chosen subject tutor in good time. They will be happy to advise candidates individually.
Downloads
The programme consists of four modules. The core material (Module 1) is supplemented by a Practical Performance in Context module, as well as a broad range of elective material allowing the students to develop their own profiles as conductors. Module 4 consists of the Master’s theses or final Master’s projects and concludes the course of study.
