The music teaching qualification at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln ends with a Master’s Degree and qualifies students first and foremost for careers in music teaching at grammar schools, comprehensive schools and vocational colleges. Employment opportunities open to graduates are very good.  In addition to qualifying as professional music teachers, graduates are also often employed in related fields outside the direct scope of the programme, including concert outreach and education, radio, choral conducting and music journalism.
