If you are interested in pursuing a music degree, you have most likely already devoted much of your time to practical music making. For admission to the music teaching qualification course, however, we also require candidates to show a particular aptitude for music education and the range of skills that music teachers need is also reflected in the structure of the entrance examination for the bachelor of arts. It tests the candidate’s abilities in instrumental playing, singing, aural skills and music teaching, as well as in directing musical ensembles. The process also includes an interview with the application committee and the option to demonstrate other music-related skills that are not otherwise covered in the examination.
