General Advising

The Study Administration Office at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln is responsible for advising students on general matters. These include:

  • Registration, leave of absence, un-enrolling, and other university matters
  • Orchestra matters
  • Auditing
  • Administering and organizing aptitude tests

Due to the current crisis situation, please send completed and signed applications in digitized form to the Student Administration Office (

Required comments from the lectures and approvals from the deans will be obtained from us by email. You will then receive the notification of your application by email to your student account, which you should check regularly.

Office hours

At the moment, the student administration does not offer fixed office hours in order to keep direct contacts to a minimum against the background of the COVID 19 pandemic for the protection of students, teachers and staff of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Based on the experience of the past semesters, most concerns can be clarified by email or telephone.

The outside letterbox at the main entrances of the respective locations can be used at any time to hand in applications and documents.

Furthermore, PO Box 256 (yellow letterboxes) in the foyer of the Cologne campus can be used during the opening hours of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
