Erasmus for Outgoings

With Erasmus +, after completing the first year of study, students can study at a European university in another participating country in order to expand their social and cultural skills and improve their career prospects. You will get to know the academic system of a foreign university as well as its teaching and learning methods.

The stays are funded in all program countries.

Advantages of studying abroad

  • academic recognition of academic achievements abroad
  • Exemption from tuition fees at the host university
  • Promotion of foreign-related additional costs
  • Support in preparation (cultural, linguistic, organizational)
  • Special grants for students with children
  • Special grants for students with disabilities

Requirements for an application

  • regular enrollment at our university
  • Completion of the first year of study
  • Study visit to a partner university with which the home university has concluded an Erasmus cooperation agreement (interinstitutional agreement)
  • Home and host universities have a valid Erasmus University Charter (E-CHE)

Further information on applying for a stay abroad via the Erasmus + program:

Unfortunately, I can no longer give you any clear information about the form in which you can apply for an Erasmus place at the partner universities. Most universities no longer accept the previously standardized sending of paper documents.

The AEC has been offering an online application portal since 2016, in which around 60% of European conservatoires now participate. This portal is called EASY and will also be used by the Cologne University of Music and Dance for the application phase from 2019/20.

I therefore ask you to submit your application via the portal:, unless you find clearly different information on the website of your preferred partner university.

You can submit a maximum of 3 applications, which must be submitted by March 1st. one year, unless the EASY portal of the partner university is only open at a later point in time. The deadline applies to both winter and summer semester applications.

If you do not submit your application via EASY, please send the complete application documents by March 1st, even if the deadline of the preferred partner university is later.

I am happy to answer any questions during my opening hours. Heike Gecks, room 12 ZG.
