Setting the Course Together

In academic matters, the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln has the right of autonomy. This means that the University makes its own independent decisions regarding academic matters. Important steps regarding the conceptual goals of the University’s work, staffing, as well as enrollment, examination, and curriculum regulations, etc. are collectively discussed and carried out. In order for this to happen, there must be coordinated collaboration among the agendas of the President's Office, the administration, instructors, and students at the committee level (Senate, department council, interdisciplinary “joint committees,” and the state university advisory board, Kunsthochschulbeirat des Landes NRW.
