Students can use Erasmus+ to study at a European partner university after having completed their first year of study in order to expand their social and cultural skills and improve their career prospects. They get to know the academic system of a foreign university as well as its teaching and learning methods.
Stays are sponsored in all programme countries.
The application deadline is March, 1 each year and applies to applications for both summer and winter semester.
It is not possible to apply after the given deadlines.
Requirements for an application are:
Please inform yourself at the partner university in which form you need to apply for an Erasmus place. They either use an online mobility tool or the EASY platform of the AEC.
The Hochschule für Musik und Tanz uses, together with most of the European universities for music and arts the online tool EASY of the AEC (Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies des Musique et Musikhochschulen).
Please submit your application via the online application tool EASY https://aec.dreamapply.com/. unless you find different information on the website of your preferred partner university. If you need a nomination letter for your registration or application at the partner unversity, please contact the International Office at HfMT.
You can submit 3 applications at a maximum. If the EASY portal of the partner university does open later or the application period differs, and, you therefore cannot submit the application documents by March 1, please send an e-Mail to international-office(at)hfmt-koeln(dot)de with information on your planned stay abroad, in particular the duration and the planned partner universities.

General information on health insurance for students can be found here.
Students from EU/EEA countries and Switzerland who are insured with a statutory health insurance fund in their country of origin can have their health insurance recognized by a statutory health insurance fund in Germany. To do so, contact a statutory German health insurance company, which will report the insured person's status (statutorily or non-statutorily insured) to the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. For this purpose, the health insurance company electronically creates a message "M10", which contains, among other things, information on name, gender, address and date of birth as well as health insurance number and company number of the health insurance company, and sends it to the Hochschule. The sender number of HfMT Cologne is H0000962.
