For many years, voice has been a special emphasis in the wide range of program specializations at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. The University’s graduates include many vocalists who have now established themselves internationally.

In no small way, this is because since the University’s beginning, some of the world’s most renowned singers have taught and continue to teach at the University. In order to maintain this level of excellence, the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln also hosts guest instructors and emeritus professors who teach master classes.

Students studying voice at the University and at the Rheinische Opernakademie therefore have three categories of world-class instructors to learn from:

• University professors
• Internationally renowned guests and professors emeriti
• Alumni

Academic credit for master classes is reserved exclusively for students at the Cologne, Aachen, and Wuppertal campuses of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Master classes may be audited by signing up in advance.
