The Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln would like to use the following pages to help you choose the right degree program and provide you with the information you need to prepare for and begin studying at the University.

Degree Tracks

A particular degree track and program of study should be determined by the student’s professional goals and any previous knowledge and education. You can choose from the following degree tracks at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln:

• Undergraduate program generally gives the student professional qualifications upon completion. The student is awarded a bachelor’s degree upon graduation. Program duration is 8 semesters.
• Master’s program requires an undergraduate degree. The aim of the master’s program is to build on the previous degree. The student is awarded a master’s degree upon graduation. Program duration is 4 semesters.
• Certificate program also requires an undergraduate degree. However, this program adds further artistic and professional qualifications. The student is awarded a certificate upon graduation. An academic degree is not awarded. Program duration is 4 semesters.
